C. Wonder

OMG! I can not wait to visit the C. Wonder store in SOHO that opens today!  Created by Tory Burch's ex husband Chris Burch and described as "re-imagining retail with an experience that most women never imagined could exist—extraordinary products at an incredible value with luxury service in an inspiring environment—plus a little unexpected 'wow.'"  It looks amazing and is already creating a huge buzz.

cutting through the clutter

So I spent the last week going through every nook and cranny of our home trying to purge the clutter and stuff. I'm not kidding, every drawer, every closet, every basket and bag. It felt good. I filled my dinning room with stuff. And then we had a tag sale. I wish I could say every last item sold and we pocketed a nice little bundle for a rainy day, but no. I thought for sure I'd be racing out to by the new iPhone 4S today.  We did get rid of a lot as my husband pointed out.  But I still have at least 4 bins of random things to take to the thrift shop.  Anyone need a pair of rollerblades circa 1996?

So now my plan is to organize and "style" my home a bit better. I'm tired of things, but I think if you move items around, try them in different rooms, instead of buying something new, it all feels new again.  At least that is my hope. Here are some images that are inspiring me at the moment.

the crazy ones

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
Everything else is secondary."
-Steve Jobs

Apple.

I was very sad to hear that Steve Jobs the co-founder of Apple had died.  He was a true visionary and a creative genius.

I have been an Apple consumer since the launch of the Macintosh computer in 1984 when I was lucky enough to get one while in high school.  I have used and owned an Apple ever since.  Along the way adding an iPod, iMac, MacBook, iPhone and iPad.  Steve Jobs and Apple have transformed computers and our culture on so many levels.  Let's not forget what he has done for computer animation with Pixar - Toy Story, Up, Cars, Finding Nemo.  And iTunes - how could we get through the day without our music on iTunes?  Or Apps!

It's sad to think that Apple and their leaps and bounds in technology and design might slow down without it's fearless leader.

Thank you Steve Jobs.

And I'm sure you've all seen this but  I think the American Cancer Society's
"Happy Birthday" campaign is so great.
